Blue Collar, dir. by Paul Schrader
Great film about trials and tribulations of a few of the workers of a Detroit auto plant from the 1970s, and Paul Schrader’s directorial debut. It features a really incredible Richard Pryor in one of his only dramatic roles, along with other standout performances from Harvey Keitel, Yaphet Kotto, Ed Begley Jr., it’s a powerful indictment of both corporate greed and union corruption, and the struggle of the workers caught in the middle - with a heavy dose of gritty Detroit mixed in. Check it out if you get the chance.
